Afterwards/Ba3den

The faces and postures in these paintings seem familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time. The figures who walk onto the space of the canvas appear ghost like, haunting as an uncertain tension fills the painting. They stand in non-places, casting no shadows. This particular series addresses the representation of a generation, who seem to be unaccounted for, who populate public spaces, in so doing I attempt to capture the transformations of our social fabric. Through distilling these moments on the canvas I am to capture important undocumented aspect of everyday life that ultimately accumulate into otherwise untold histories. (Mixed media on canvas, 138 x 180cm, 2018-2022)
